June 2, 2025 - On May 27, 2025, The Asia Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Busan Gender Equality and Family, Lifelong Education Institute and six Women’s Resources Development Centers in Busan to support women in the region.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Kyungjin SONG emphasized that developing the women's workforce is a key priority that contributes not only to individual growth but also to the local community and the national economy. She stated that The Asia Foundation would actively support women in Busan in realizing their full potential through this agreement.

Ji-young YOON, President of the Busan Gender Equality and Family, Lifelong Education Institute, expressed a strong commitment to helping women resume their careers by providing foundational digital education.

Sook-ryeon LEE, Head of the Dongnae Women’s Resources Development Center, shared her hope that this agreement would lead to sustainable, ongoing programs rather than being a one-time initiative.

Through this MOU, The Asia Foundation has strengthened institutional collaboration for the Skills2Work (S2W) – Busan program, supported by Microsoft. The Foundation will work to enhance the basic digital and job-readiness skills of women in Busan who have experienced career interruptions.
