The survey received 1,505 responses from youths between the ages of 18 to 32, and was designed to gauge youths¡¯ perceptions towards democracy, politics, multiculturalism, and community involvement. The findings of the survey indicated that Malaysian youths have wide ranging opinions on their society: 43% desire a society where different races and cultures are treated equally; 27% want a more democratic society; 18% want a society where Islam plays a greater role; 6% want a Malay dominated society.

Sri Lanka
- ¾Æ½Ã¾ÆÀç´Ü ½º¸®¶ûÄ« »ç¾÷
Armed conflict rose sharply in the spring of 2006 in Sri Lanka, leading to a breakdown of human rights in the country. The Asia Foundation, with funding from USAID and support from its local NGO partners, continues to carry out programs in this increasingly difficult environment. These programs support applied research, culturally appropriate practices, and expand the delivery of services, including psychosocial counseling. Advocacy to reduce the incidence and effects of torture are also addressed by the Foundation¡¯s programs. These programs have proven effective in providing technical, financial and moral support to individuals and organizations that are on the frontline against torture in Sri Lanka.
